Cache & History
In order to speed up web access, browsers generally "cache", or save, web documents to your local hard drive. On subsequent visits, the browser can refer to the saved documents rather than download them from the web again every time they are requested.
This feature is not desirable when a page changes on the internet but your browser displays the old version cached on your computer. Fortunately, you have control over this behaviour.
It is also recommended that you clear your cache (erase your Temporary Internet Files) whenever you finish a browsing session on a computer which is shared or publicly accessible to prevent others from being able to see the contents of your pages.

Cookies:
In order to log in to My Services, session cookies must be enabled in your browser. Cookies are small text files that your browser writes to your hard drive in order to send information to a server. "Session" cookies are deleted once you close your browser, and often when you "log out" of a site. They are used by the My Services application to identify you as an authorized user during your session so that you do not have to log in anew to every page you enter until you either log out, close your browser, or delete them manually.

JavaScript:
In order to take advantage of all of My Services's features, such as the ability to print the contents of individual portlets, you need to have JavaScript turned on in your browser.

Passwords and Form Data:
If your username automatically appears in the "Log-in" form before you finish typing it completely or if your personal information appears in form fields automatically, we recommend that you disable the auto-complete function to protect your information. This is especially important if you are using a publicly-accessible or shared computer.
